Went back to the parking garage last night and honestly the pictures weren’t even really worth editing. He’s got some new stuff, namely a Giulia Quadrifoglio, the pictured Viper ACR (it’s very orange), and one of my all-time favorites, an R8 GT in the orange launch color. Unfortunately the lighting was so bad all around that one that it wasn’t worth taking a picture of at all.

You should carry a few cheap flashguns for situations like this.

How cheap is cheap? Might have to pick some up.

Good grief, what are you shooting with? My camera’s noisier than that at 800 iso. Granted I’m sure at the original resolution they probably look far noisier, but at this resolution they look pretty good.

There’s the Cactus RF60x ($185 on Amazon), the Yongnuo YN600EX-RT II ($115), and the Shanny SN600 series ($80). They all handle wireless triggering (and HSS too, I think), and the Cactus and Yongnuo models also do radio triggering.

Tripod and a shutter release cable so you can do longer exposures at ISO 100.

Also, try converting these to black and white and then edit them. You can get away with adding a little noise reduction, plus you won’t have to deal with all the color noise, ya know?

I have a tripod but didn’t bring it as it was a very spur of the moment thing. And I’ll try them in B&W.

Get crazy with it in B&W. Blow out the bright background on some of them and make the lines of the car pop. Kill the shadows and leave the highlights, or the opposite. I don’t know. Just go nuts. Sometimes when you don’t have to worry about colors, the picture just comes to you.

Very Classic Top Gear film noir vibe you have there. It may not be what you were after, but I kind of like it!

film noir : film nwär/ noun

a style or genre of cinematographic film marked by a mood of pessimism, fatalism, and menace. The term was originally applied (by a group of French critics) to American thriller or detective films made in the period 1944–54 and to the work of directors such as Orson Welles, Fritz Lang, and Billy Wilder.

I’m blown away by the lack of noise at 6400 iso.

Really? I like the compositions I got, but was pretty bummed out by the noise. Blow the images up and you’ll see.
